Guys weekend is necessary for mental health

Whether you’re in your early 20’s or late 60’s a guys week/weekend is something that helps your mental health no matter what your wife or partner says. Every year I have at least 1 weekend get away from the family, responsibilities of life and unwind. My wife I tip my cap to because she doesn’t give me any shit, only the once in a blue moon comment of I wish I could do that. I think everyone should. If you have a group of friends, brothers, sisters you should do a weekend of whatever the hell relaxes you.

For me this time it’s Myrtle Beach, 6 days of golf with a great group of friends that I’ve known from work for 10 years. It’s a get away to relax, bound, and have a blast and enjoy some nice weather. For people that say, “OMG you’re going away with out your family?” Fuck ya I am! I have no problem doing it and if you’re the type that won’t let your husband or boyfriend do it then you’re the selfish human being. You think a guy wants to constantly be around you and not have a chance to unwind and be able to enjoy a few days without any responsibilities? You don’t think we all come back happy and appreciative of having that time to unwind and make some memories with friends?

This trip to Myrtle is something I’ve been looking forward too since last summer when my friend, Gerry booked it. I’m not the best golfer. I shoot between low 90’s to mid 100’s and I still will have the time of my life with good weather, and good friends. If you’re reading this and need a get away just do it!
